Music and Makan X Labyrinth

Final Invite image
We have been busy preparing for the next Music and Makan on the 23rd of April 2017! Can’t believe it has been almost three years since the last one!
The theme for this edition is French music with a twist performed by 4 accomplished young musicians – Michelle Tan (Voice), Sherilyn Lim (Voice) and Aaron Chen (Piano), will bring us vocal pieces by composers such as Claude Debussy and Reynaldo Hahn, and Rit Xu (Flute) will perform Solo French pieces, “flute loops” and his own improvisations!
This is also the first time we will be collaborating with a local culinary artist (!) for the Makan component – and a truly innovative one as well  –  Chef LG Han of Labyrinth fame!! http://labyrinth.com.sg. He will be whipping up a couple of delicious french-inspired dishes (including French Onion Soup with Roti Prata and Foie Gras Macarons!) which will definitely be an awesome complement to the French music. 😀
The programme for the evening –
Voice
1. Claude Debussy – Nuit D’etoiles (Voice)
2. R.Hahn – L’enamouree
3. R. Hahn – L’Heure exquise
4. Offenbach Barcarolle Duet “Belle nuit”
Flute
1. Jacques Ibert – Piece for solo flute
2. Flute loops Improvisation
3. Claude Debussy – “Syrinx” for solo flute
4. Rit Xu – Deblussy
Menu:
French Onion Soup with Roti Prata
Chicken Roulade stuffed with Pecorino Romano, wrapped with Parma Ham, served with Truffle Honey Sauce
Foie Gras Macaron
Seafood Marinara with Truffle Oil and Caviar
In the true spirit of collaboration to get to the heart of Music X Makan, Chef Han and I have been doing a bit of an exchange – I’ve been introducing my favourite classical music pieces to him, and he’s been teaching me how to cook – in the Labyrinth kitchen!!! Stay tuned for progress on both our fronts (and Chef Han’s thoughts on classical music!)
